WWD: World Wildlife Day is celebrated on 3rd of March, marked as WWD proclaimed by UNGA (the UN General Assembly) on 20 December 2013, at its 68th session, is the day of signature of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), as UN World Wildlife Day to celebrate and raise awareness of the world’s wild animals and plants, Resolution adopted by the General Assembly.

  • There are about 18500 taxa of flowering plants from India. The Indian Forest Act, 1927 helped to improve the protection and security of the natural habitat.
